It’s hot out there, but you probably already knew that. Fortunately, there are a ton of places to grab amazing, cool drinks at Cameron Village. Here are eight beverages to quench your thirst during the summer heat:
Benelux – Cucumber Cold Brew
For something a little different, try a cucumber cold brew coffee from Benelux. That’s right. Cucumber.
This chill beverage is infused with cucumber shrub. What’s that you ask? Not to be confused with a bush you might find in the Cameron Village greenery, a shrub is a vinegar-based syrup made with cane sugar. Benelux gets theirs from Crude Bitters & Sodas.
It combines the cool taste of cucumber with the quenching power of iced coffee.
Pair it with a nutella, banana, and chocolate chip muffin because…well, do you really need a reason?
Cantina 18 – Strawberry – Vanilla Bean Sangria
If you’re looking for a little Spanish flavor in your summer beverage, check out the delicious strawberry – vanilla bean sangria at Cantina 18. It’s fresh, fizzy, and fantastic. Add chips and salsa and you’ve got an superb trio.
Chick-fil-A – Frosted Lemonade
Lemonade is always a fun summer drink. Chick-fil-A takes it one step further by combining their famous fresh-squeeze lemonade with their vanilla Ice Dream for their Frosted Lemonade. It tastes even better than it sounds.
Sugarland – Prosecco and Gelato
Sugarland isn’t just cupcakes and gelato. It’s also prosecco and gelato! If you’re looking for a cool treat with a little fizz, a prosecco-gelato float is for you. And perhaps pair it with an additional key lime tart if you’re feeling like an extra treat.
Tazza Kitchen – Summer Cocktails
On the left, we have “Hey Mami” and she is one sassy lady. With El Jimador Tequila Reposado, sombra mezcal, campari, grapefruit, lime, cinnamon, and crushed ice, it’s citrus and spice and everything nice.
On the right, we have “It’s My Weekend” and it features Sailor Jerry’s spiced rum, allspice dram, honey, lime, coconut milk, nutmeg and crushed ice. Can’t go to the beach cabana? Bring the beach cabana to you.
If you’re not sure which one is right for you, ask Tazza Kitchen bartender Mara Sudol. She’s amazing.
Tin Roof Teas – Persephone’s Temptation
It hard to think of something more quintessentially Southern than a glass of iced tea. But if you’re looking for something beyond the standard, head over to Tin Roof Teas.
This one here is called Persephone’s Temptation. If you remember your Greek mythology, Persephone had a thing for pomegranates. Which makes it appropriate that this green tea is rich with pomegranate flavour in addition to a touch of rose hips and raspberries.
Village Draft House – Summer Beer
Looking for that perfect summer beer? Stop by the Village Draft House, which has easily one of the most underrated beer lists in the Triangle. Try Brüeprint’s Red, White, and Brüe Hefeweizen. The red and blue are from fresh strawberries and blueberries that make their way into the brewing process.
We hope you get a chance to sample a few of these drinks and that they make your summer a little bit cooler.
